      Anti-Wrinkle Injections

What is Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

When looking to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections can produce effective results. Infused with purified proteins, they work by blocking nerve signals in the muscles, when injected into specific areas of the face. The injections contain a naturally occurring neurotoxin, botulinum toxin type A, which helps to stop the muscle from over contracting and wrinkling the skin. A great solution for temporarily reducing the appearance of a variety of lines and wrinkles, including: frown lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines, neck lines, marionette lines, nasal lines and eye wrinkles, anti-wrinkle injections can effectively smooth the skin for a youthful and rejuvenated look. At Aesthetic zone Clinic London, we also use botox to successfully address hyperhidrosis(excessive sweating ).

How Does botulinum toxin Work?

In order for a muscle to move, a neurotransmitter needs to signal that muscle to move, and a nerve will release this signal therefore botulinum toxin relaxes your muscles to flatten out wrinkles.

botulinum toxin inhibits the muscle from moving by depleting that neurotransmitter.

Preventing your muscles from moving reduces the wrinkles created by certain facial expressions.

How Much Botulinum Toxin Do You Need?

What defines the amount of Botox required is the strength of the muscle around the area that needs treating.

As botulinum toxin only temporarily relaxes your muscles, we recommend booking in for botulinum toxin treatments periodically. Botulinum toxin treatments typically last for around three months.

What Can Botulinum Toxin Treat?

The positive effects of Botox are not limited to the two examples we’ve listed above. The most common use for botulinum toxin is to temporarily relax muscles – the ones that cause lines and wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes.

There are many uses for Botulinum Toxin, we focus on the following treatments:

Forehead botulinum toxin: The forehead is one of the most commonly treatment areas, which frequently wrinkles the muscles we use when expressing emotions.

Glabella: The Glabella is the fancy name given to the space between your brows. Over time, a deep and prominent line may appear. We can relax the muscle to reduce the overworking of the area. Brow botulinum toxin wrinkle injections can be used to lift the brow area by administration botulinum toxin in key areas, which relaxes the muscles used when you frown and lifting the weight that we naturally push down.

botulinum toxin for the nose: Yes, this might be an unfamiliar one to you. When you smile repeatedly over time (and we hope that you do), creases form on the bridge of the nose near the tear duct of the eye. We can relax the muscles in this region of your face to reduce how prominent these lines can appear.

Jawline botulinum toxin: A slimmer, heart shaped jaw can be created with jawline botulinum toxin, streamlining the area. It is also effective in treating bruxism – which is defined as excessive teeth grinding or jaw clenching.
